What?
Each day campers will be separated into groups. Qualified instructors will
teach them riding, ground work, tack and equine education. While on the
ground campers will learn; everyday barn chores and maintenance, saddling
and unsaddling, grooming and horse health care. Each day a different area
of education will be covered including, but not limited to; breeds, color
patterns,
markings, hoof care, weight and measurement, conformation, etc...
Riding lessons will be taught and supervised by professional instructors
Shane and Mary Byerly. Campers will also be creating crafts each day, and
enjoying the other animals we have to offer such as miniature horses, donkeys,
show cattle, goats, bunnies, chickens, ducks and lots of dogs and
kittens. Falling Star Training Center has been in operation for 15 years.
Providing
services such as; Training, lessons, showing, evaluation, sales and more.
Shane and Mary have been in the equine business for more than 20 years
and are excited to offer their experience to you.
*Participants must wear trousers & shoes with a heel (boots).
**Helmets are provided by camp.
What is a Typical Day Schedule?
| 9:00am - 10:00am | Horse care, grooming, saddling ( all together ) |
| 10:00am - 10:45am | Group 1 riding, Group 2 Education and crafts |
| 10:45am - 11:00am | Water horses; change riders |
| 11:00am - 11:45am | Group 2 riding , Group 1 Education and crafts |
| 11:45am - 12:30pm | Unsaddling, grooming and clean up ( all together) |
| 12:30pm-1:00pm | Return to YMCA |
