Swimming Lessons

At the YMCA, we believe everyone should learn to swim.  Knowing how to swim offers a great way to stay in shape, to stay safe and offers a lifetime of fun activities.  A few things to keep in mind to get the most out of swim lessons. First, learning to swim is progressive. It usually takes more than one session before a child or an adult is comfortable in the water. Swimming skills are progressive and build on each other, so it is important to choose the correct level for yourself or your child. Swim lessons are non-competitive, so don’t feel pressured to push a higher level if not ready. It’s normal and even advised, to take several sessions within the same level.
