Members and Parents with Youth

Dear YMCA Parent and Youth,

I would like to thank you for being a part of the YMCA. Summer is approaching, and YMCA’s goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all.   There are a few policies that I would like to remind all of our youth, teen and family members of:

·         Anyone under the age of 13 must be directly supervised by an adult 18 years or older, this is a change from the previous age of 11 years old to be in the facility without adult supervision.

·         An Announcement will be made 15 minutes prior to closing for members of non-driving ages to call for their ride. Local law enforcement will be contacted for any child not picked up by 15 minutes after closing.

·         Teens are limited to 5 consecutive hours at the YMCA on any given day unless they are enrolled in a YMCA program.

The YMCA is committed to providing a positive atmosphere that is safe and inclusive to all.  In order to ensure this, the Greenwood Family YMCA has established a code of conduct to govern the actions and behaviors of all people while in our facilities and while participating in YMCA programs.

All individuals are expected to:

The following will NOT be tolerated at YMCA facilities and in YMCA programs:

Individuals who experience or observe inappropriate conduct are encouraged to promptly report their concern to YMCA staff.  Every effort will be made to ensure that reports are investigated and resolved promptly and effectively.

Failure to follow this code of conduct will result in disciplinary actions, which may include immediate eviction from the premises, loss of membership privileges, suspension or expulsion.  The YMCA may contact security, police or other authorities for assistance or to take appropriate legal action.

Thank you again for making the YMCA a part of your life, where we strive to build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.

Sincerely,

Donna Morris, Sr. Membership Director
