Jennings Hollister wins national championship

 

Congratulations to Jennings who won the Midget Class in Knoxville to become the first national champion in the history of the Grapplers. In his first year, Jacob Callahan also took second place in his Bantam Class. Cody Pirkle placed seventh in the Novice Class. Congratulations to all these boys on everything they have accomplished this season - on and off the mat!

 

 

Seven Grapplers capture state championships

Congratulations to Tobby Herlong of Greenwood, Jacob Callahan of  Greenwood, Nick Hernandez of Greenwood, Luke Newton of Greenwood all won state championships. Also winning  - the following have multiple championships to their credit: 2 time STATE CHAMPION Zack Woodhurst of Greenwood, 3 time STATE CHAMPION Jennings Hollister of Greenwood, and CODY PIRKLE of Ware Shoals has his sixth SC STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. He is also a 2 time All American. 

The Grapplers also have 3 Silver Medalist: Tanner Cooper of Ware Shoals, Jamison Boyd of Greenwood and 2 time Runner Up Evin Calliham of Ninety Six. 

Caleb Gilbert of Ware Shoals and Steven Crowder of Greenwood were Bronze Medalist.

The Greenwood Family YMCA Grapplers are the developmental wrestling club of

Greenwood and Abbeville counties for youth age 5 through adult.


The club and its coaches are dedicated to fostering a sporting environment that is constructive and encouraging for its members. A primary desire is to mold champions both on and off the mat.

We have created this web site in order to provide further resources and support for our wrestlers and their families, as well as to establish our presence among the larger wrestling community throughout the country.

Anyone with suggestions for improvements or additions to this site are encouraged to share their ideas via email or otherwise.
